![]() ![]() This project is part of my venture into the. This project scrapes all known games (at the time of writing) on the website, extracting the game data as well as all existing completion entries. While ripe with data, its unfortunately lacking an API. Don’t even hesitate - and you can thank me later. HowLongToBeat (HLTB) is a great website for discovering times that people take to complete games. Oddmar has literally satisfied every aspect I look for in a quality game, and while other titles have been completed and then deleted, this one while stand the test of the time. I don’t spend even a handful of dollars unless it’s worth it, and I do my research prior to making any purchase. On top of that, the graphics are top-notch, the music is excellent, the sound effects are on point and the story is original, including the narration on the cut scenes, which also hold their own. As the progression of the game continues on, it goes from learning to mastering, and the replay value of each level is excellent too, being that you will most likely have to replay the later levels to achieve the bonuses received after beating set time goals. The idea behind this style of gaming is perfecting your timing and they programmed this to excel. This title for the iOS platform is by FAR the best out there, and even competes with other systems / classic games of the past, all the way to the latest consoles. I’m a veteran gamer, starting all the way back at the beginning of arcade gaming, and then into Commodore, Atari, Neo Geo, Turbografix 16, Nintendo, Genesis, Playstation, and every console since, all the way up until the latest PS4 Pro and XBox One. Oddmar supports iCloud game saves and game controllers.Īn internet connection will initially be necessary to complete the download of app data for Oddmar. Oddmar struggles with life in his village and is not worthy of a place in Valhalla. After all, improved servers are just another corporate expense, right? So yeah, I don't have see the point in sympathy anymore.*Oddmar is Apple Design Award 2018 Winner* I used to feel it was shady the way people advertised their scraping (especially with plugins and stuff, which did get his apparent consent), but now that the site isn't independent, I don't think it matters now except for - as you say - overloading the site for other users. especially as I'm greeted with a message that the server is overloaded every now and then already.Yeah, web scraping feels.iffy to me, if only because of the server bandwidth. Has anyone got the consent from Everdred to scrape the site? Under which conditions? How to make sure to not overload the server? Sure, I cannot speak for Everdred but that's something that annoys me. So, in my opinion it's a bit shady to also advertise it. But so far I put that off because web scraping is unethical in my opinion and if I have to do it I make sure to limit my impact as good as I can: Get stuff only once (caching) and rate limit the hell out of it. Replying to Sora1248 I also like a public API as there's some stuff I really like to try. I would be surprised if that was not made one of his priorities. Edit: found a wrapper on Github.I'm assuming an API will be forthcoming much sooner now that Everdred has secured.backing to work on the site full time. Response is HTML and the elements you'd see on the page, so select appropriately, A proper API would be really, really nice, but until then I'm just going to have to scrape with this. Replying to BlankedyBlank I've been taking a look in the browser DevTools and playing around I suspect this is what several people in this thread are doing already but I thought I'd document it here for others: You can send a POST request to with no auth and Content-Type x-"detail" is the "modifiers" option, and useful values are 'user_stats', 'hide_dlc' and 'only_dlc'.
